MTB Training Camps 2024

Location: The Training Camps will take place in the spring 2024 in Costa Blanca, Spain. We will stay at Hotel Cap Negret in Altea, Alicante. The combination of a warm and dry climate, a hotel geared for cyclists and a terrain that offers a vast number of training opportunities, will make up a perfect setting for a training camp!


Purpose: The purpose of the training camp is to provide a week of highly qualified mountainbike training targeting the specific demands of MTB XCO racing, and to a certain extent MTB XCM racing.  The training will prepare participants for their races in the upcoming season, and further make them learn and reflect about training, recovery and nutrition. Thus, providing tools and knowledge to use in training and competition.


Target group: The highly motivated mountainbiker, who is competitive at some level (Elite, Master, Junior U19), but most importantly wants to become better and learn!

It is possible to differentiate the training load during the training camp to the individual needs (age, level of fitness, training background and competition focus).  There will be around eight riders in a group, as from our experience this is a good number to secure a high level of training.


Time: There will be two training camps. Both camps will be from Saturday to Sunday (these days are considered travel days, and not included as training days, but you can always go for an easy ride), thus giving 7 days of focused training.


  • Camp #1: 2/3-10/3, 2024 

  • Camp #2:  9/3-16/3, 2024


Accommodation: We will stay at Hotel Cap Negret in Altea. A hotel that knows the needs for cyclists and mountainbikers. For further information go to Hotel Cap Negret


Training and Terrain: The focus in training is centered on the specific physical, technical and mental demands in mountainbike racing (XCO and XCM). The training will be a mix of mountainbike specific intervals in race-like terrain, steady controllable intervals and longer endurance rides. Further, there will be two sessions with functional strength training. The Costa Blanca area offers a wide variety of routes and terrain, and it is known for a sunny and warm climate throughout the year.

Booking: To book a place on the training camp send an email to Jacob Agger from Endura Consulting (, where you confirm that you would like to participate. Remember to specify which week you want to participate. Hereafter your place will be booked (Training Package and Hotel with full board), and you will receive a confirmation email with further information. 


Prices: There will be three separate prices to be paid. 

  • Hotel Cap Negret: 8 nights in double room with full board and bike storage*: 388 euro**

  • Training package: 120 Euro (see information below)

  • Transfer Service  Alicante Airport to the hotel and return: Approx. 55 euro***


*Also included in the price: 0,5L Water per person per meal, box / container for bike storage,  access to the BIKE ZONE with pressure washer and repair area,  laundry area (washing machines and dryers), free parking with electricity and water supply, Gym 24H, WIFI 


** The price for the hotel is the current price, which may increase from week to week depending on request and occupancy at Hotel Cap Negret. So at the time of your booking, you will be informed if the price has changed and be given the current price.


***The price can vary a bit depending on the exact number of persons on the transfer.


Payment Conditions:  

  • Hotel: We refer to the payment conditions of Hotel Cap Negret, which is the following. A deposit of 20% of the total booking amount is required within 7 days of booking confirmation. In case of cancellation after the deposit has been paid, the deposit will not be refunded. The balance is due at least 10 days before the arrival of the group. Availability is not guaranteed until a firm booking is made. Payment information will be given when booking the training camp.


  • Training Package: Endura Consulting will send out an invoice for the training package, in the week leading up to the training camp.


  • Transfer Service: Transfer service has to be paid when ordered.


Travel and Transportation: Each participant is responsible for the travel to Spain. If you go by plane, Alicante Airport is the nearest airport, with many routes coming in from all over Europe. Transfer service from the airport to the hotel will be arranged on your request - so just let us know. If you have any questions regarding flights, feel free to reach out to us.


Training Package: The training package includes the following.

  • 7 days of structured training with an appropriate mix of intensity and volume. See the preliminary program below.

  • Coaching and guidance on training related aspects (i.e. training quality, recovery, nutrition, etc.)

  • Presentations on ‘Nutrition and recovery’, ‘Mountainbike training and performance optimization’ and ‘Mental strategies for better performance in training and competition’


Travel Insurance: Each participant is responsible for his or her own travel insurance. 


Cancelation Policy:

  • Hotel: We refer to the cancelation policies of Hotel Cap Negret which is:

  • Cancellation from the confirmation of the group until 30 days before the arrival date: 20% of the total amount of the reservation. 

  • Cancellation from 29 to 7 days before the arrival date: 50% of the total amount of the reservation. 

  • Cancellation within 6 days prior to arrival: 100% of the total amount of the group.

  •  No Show or early departure: 100% of the total amount of the reservation.

  • Training Package: If a person has to withdraw from participating in the training camp, there will be no charges for the training package.


Training program: Outlined below is the preliminary program for the training camp. The program may be subject to changes according to the weather conditions from day to day. On the day of arrival and departure there is no official training, but if time allows an easy spin can be arranged.

The 7 days of training are split into two 3-day blocks with one recovery day in between. In that way, it is possible getting in many hours of riding, with some quality efforts, and still being able to recover during the period. The single rides will not be harder than recovery from day to day will be sufficient to keep quality in training.  MTB training session will start at 10:00, which allows good time to enjoy the breakfast end get back in time for lunch.   • Saturday (day of arrival): Optional 1h easy spin

  • Sunday: 3h MTB interval ride with shorter anaerobic efforts | ½h functional training in the afternoon.

  • Monday: 4h MTB interval ride with threshold hill climbs.

  • Tuesday: 5h MTB endurance ride on a mixed route.

  • Wednesday: 1h recovery spin | 1h functional training in the afternoon

  • Thursday: 4h MTB interval ride with XCO-specific interval

  • Friday: 3h MTB interval ride with Sub-Threshold hill climbs.

  • Saturday: 5h MTB endurance ride on mixed route

  • Sunday (day of departure): Optional 1h easy spin


Hotel eating times:

  • Breakfast: 8:00 – 10:30

  • Lunch: 13:00 – 15:00 (if we cannot make back to lunch in time, the hotel will prepare picnic bags)

  • Dinner: 19:30 – 21:30
